RESIDENTIAL / FLAGSHIP

The Richards'

KOVAN, SINGAPORE

NARRATIVE

light at the heart
of family life

Designed for a family of seven, Richards Place transforms the constraints of an inter-terrace home through a generous central skylight and vertical airwell that bring natural light and ventilation deep into the house.

The airwell becomes more than an environmental device — it forms the heart of the home, visually connecting living, entertaining and private spaces across multiple levels. Timber, natural textures and a restrained palette further shape a calm, light-filled sanctuary.

THE PROCESS

Light as a Living Element

Our approach transforms the constraints of the inter-terrace typology through light, air and vertical connection, placing the environment at the heart of family life.

SPATIAL EFFICIENCY

Structural DNA

The home is organised around a central vertical void, transforming a constrained terrace footprint into a connected sequence of light-filled family spaces.

An elongated stairwell and carefully zoned planning maximise usable space while establishing distinct areas for family life, entertaining and retreat.

ENCLOSURE

LIGHT AS ARCHITECTURE

Full-height glazing and the central airwell draw natural light deep into the home, creating visual continuity across its multiple levels.

HVAC

NATURAL VENTILATION

The central airwell acts as an environmental artery, encouraging the movement of air and daylight through the heart of the residence.

FINISHES

CALM MATERIALITY

Timber textures, warm lighting and a restrained white palette create a quiet material richness, balancing minimalist clarity with domestic warmth.
